300

It's a super stereotypic movie. The Aryans as the supreme race, with morals and ethics. The Persians & Asians as erotic creatures with corrupted values and beliefs. The women as subordinates to the power yielded by men. The oracle as a plaything to the unscrupulous elders. What I see is not only the epic-fitting backgrounds or the slow-mo, fast-mo killing scenes. What I see is the perpetuation of existing stereotypes even more.

When I got out of the cinema, I was so filled with exasperation and fury. I wanted to curse and swear, but my family was there. Hah. What an irony.

I just watched 2 people have sex (the King and the queen) beside my mother. I just watched a very lyrical scene of the oracle getting a "premonition". Both scenes are wonderful, beautifully crafted, poetically appealing. But I just have the wrong company.

The pace is wonderful, with just-right touches to soothe the heightened nerves after the killing sprees. The violence is justified. The piling corpses are chilling. But the plot is wonderful. One thing is, the ending leaves much to be desired. It's not that powerful.

I like the narrator, because it's a familiar face, it's a handsome face. He acted in LOTR, but I forgot. I will soon find out.

Go watch it for the graphics, go watch it for the plot.
Remember the valor of those who died, remember the 300 who fought.

Its just me and you <3 .
